Attack or Prime?

I think hitting is very slightly better at DMP. This isn't DMP however, so we need to also take gammons and cube ownership into account. Hitting leaves 2 extra blots and allows the oppt to keep a 4-point board more often so it certainly loses more gammons. How about g's won? The oppt has 4 bad numbers that force him to blot on the 5-point after either of your plays - 42 and 41 after hitting vs. 64 or 43 after priming. I like the priming play's position here since you're not on the roof on half of these and you have more checkers in the zone.
You own the cube so you should be looking for plays that give you the best chance of offering an efficient recube. Which play is better in this regard? I think the priming play wins again. You can take a long look at that cube after any of the 25 non-5s after making the 8-point vs. just the 16 dances after the loose hit.
So I'd make the 8-point.
