In term of white’s checkers I wasn’t sure of the best way to count this and would be interested in how others would tackle this.

Here's how I'd count this:
Shift checker on bar 1 pip forward to S3, all four n1 checkers 1 pip forward to S0 and one n-3 checker 3 pips backward to S0. 5 pips forward and 3 pips backward is 0(2).
Back checker and 6-stack is a poof, triplet on n2 is 1.
Total is 1(2) = 98 pips.
Alternative count:
Shift checker on bar 1 pip forward to S3 and one n-3 checker 5 pips backward to n2, that's 0(-4).
Back checker and 6-stack is a poof, checkers on n1 and n2 is a double block, that's 2.
Total is 2(-4).
