Putting myself in White's shoes here, I see that prime-v-prime is not likely to go well for me, with a big race lead and two inefficiently placed builders on the 3-point. Yes, I'd like to race, but while waiting for the right rolls, attacking would be nice as well.

So Blue's gameplan is to thwart White's gameplan. Leave the back checkers put -- they should be able to escape later. Try to improve the prime, and have a checker or two waiting in the outfield in case opp gets a leap roll.

When I'm impatient I give up the 8-point in these kinds of positions, but that usually happens too early. The 8-point has some value here and I have two checkers to play with on my midpoint. I definitely will break the 8-point when I can use one of those checkers directly to make an innerboard point, but now they are builders wherever they are located. Meanwhile I don't want to put a 3rd checker on such an inefficient point.

13/10, 13/11 feels right to me this turn.
