My experience is that GNU cranks the CPU more strongly than XG. XG automatically is not extremely priority like GNU is. If you run a GNU and XG RO simultaniously and keep both on the same priority, GNU will overpower the CPU while about nothing is done on the XG RO 'til GNU finishes.
That being said, I agree with Stick that overheating may be an issue. When running RO's with my laptop, I at least raise one end of it to help it cool better, and often raise the whole thing, using two coffee cups or two short stout glasses.
Methinks it might be time for UBK to spend some of his euros won last year on a new laptop.
Pony up for one with an i7 chip and you won't be sorry .. neilkaz ..
