Clock concerns - your thoughts please.

Very good analogy to compare the two situations. I agree with you on your points.

I recall having to play in the wee hours of the morning because some yahoo couldnt play at a reasonable pace. I did not like it anymore then the next guy. I also recall another time in Novi when an un-named player turned his matches into a 3 ring circus. Three glasses of wine lined up along with the water glasses. Shake the dice, not roll, take a drink. this would go on many times before he actually rolled. When the dice were finally rolled he pulled the same antics before deciding on which play he would make. This was practically every roll of the dice for him. I recall Jake was next in line to play him and said he is requesting the match be clocked so he did not have to play with that kind of abuse. Yes, clocks are needed.

Now that I have time to sit back and reflect maybe my question should have been addressed to what is considered "reasonable" for time allowed? In other words, assuming I shake and roll as soon as permitted how much time do I have left to consider alternative moves and is it enough time to not feel rushed or fear timing out?
