Stronger players also take the pip count into consideration more often and understand why it matters. And not all strong players count the pips like Jake Jacobs or Jack Kissane! The less-skilled player doesn't spend nearly as much time counting the pips because he doesn't feel the need for a pip count in most non-racing positions. So here's another case where the stronger player can use unlimited time to leverage his skill advantage.
