I agree with Randy.

Accentuating the checkers in this manner (especially when doubles are rolled) is a lot better than nothing, in addition to being slightly more effective than a "touch rule".

A "touch rule" might be more challenging to enforce compared to an "accentuation rule", as there would be no physical evidence on the board for the director to base his ruling on if touch rule is being used.

On the flip side, if touch rule is being used, it would likely end up as my word against his, and the director would be left with little choice but to rule that the players "roll the highest dice" to settle the dispute.
