Doubling Sportmanship Question

On the face if it I would think it was poor form (though perfectly legal) to re-double this position however…..
Without knowing the previous rolls it is possible that this was the first time that it was correct for MandM1951 to re-double. (For example MandM1951 might have the 2 checkers on his 1 point, 4 checkers on his 6 point, rolled a double 6 on his previous roll after which the opponent (Opp) might have rolled a 2,1 = the game has swung in 2 rolls and leaves MandM1951 with a now correct to cube action.)
If this was the case then I think the opponent was not only out of order in his/her comments but also displayed a lack of knowledge of how to play the game well.
If it was not the first time MandM1951 should have re-doubled then I would consider his re-double something of a cheap shot and possibly was an attempt to get Opp to mis-click in accepting the re-double rather than dropping it. In this case I think Opp’s choice of words was also poor form though some sort of negative reaction would have been justifiable.
Either way for MandM1951 to offer a re-double at this time of the game it does give Opp some knowledge that MandM1951 is “cube savvy” even if Opp thought he was not. Live players can be expected to play very well because they have invested some money in order to do so, but online players… the lower investment required might mean poorer standard of play / knowledge of the game. Without the benefit of being able to see the Opp across the board and with the score at 0, 0 to 9 I would question if MandM1951 did well to display to Opp that he is cube savvy. Would it not be a better tactic to keep Opp in the dark as to MandM1951’s knowledge of cube action while at the same time not opening oneself up to a highly possible abusive tirade?
