Doubling Sportmanship Question

opps will not resign CLEARLY lost positions with 2 or 3 rolls still needed for you to finish the game. I have never said anything about it to an opponent, but I do some mumble to myself while don't you just resign and move on. Of course those are typically not positions where you have the ability to double and end the game.

Have you considered the possibility that the reason for the opponent not resigning is that s/he thinks that you might decline it - which happens all too often in online play BTW - to throw off the opponent, or whatever reason, and s/he would be annoyed by this?
