Doubling Sportmanship Question

Yesterday I was verbally abused on Gammonsite for refusing a single-game resignation. The gammon was a long shot -- I'd have to roll doubles twice and he'd have to roll small -- but it was possible and would have won me the match. XG gave me 1.7% gammon-winning chances at that point. This has happened to me numerous times on various sites. I don't know if people just don't recognize that a gammon is still possible, or if they think I'm being petty in trying to eek one out, or what, but it's damned annoying when they get rude about it, and they go straight to my bozo list.
