There's a position in Trice's Boot Camp in which White has one checker back against a 4-prime and a second blot already exposed. It looks at first glance like a drop but according to Snowie it's a take. Here Blue has a stronger forward position than in Trice's position but the second blot is not yet exposed. I would guess that these two differences cancel each other out somewhat and the position is still D/T.

I think I would also play on after 12/3, 8/2 as you did. Even if you miss, White can't escape and clean up the blot at the same time.
