In Response To: Kit's source data (Chase)

From Inside Backgammon vol. 2, #2 (Mar-Apr 1992), pp 4-8 article titled "Inside the Data Base: Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Match Equities", Kit says:

Back around 1980, I first attempted to construct a decent match equity table.

He combined that table with two others, by Robertie and Kleinman, then ...published the first match equity table in Backgammon Times in 1981.

Now Kit compares that (8-point) MET with 3025 matchscore+result pairs from the Heinrich database and concluded that a new MET was called for because the original gave the match leader too many MWC's.

So, back to the drawing board. Using these results to give me a likely distribution at various scores, I rewrote the computer program to generate new match equity figures.

And thus resulted the famous Woolsey(-Heinrich) MET.
