Kazaross/Rockwell MET Formulas

There is little question in my mind that the greatest players 20 years ago could hold their own against the better players of today, however, the drop-off from the best players 20 years ago to the rest of the open field 20 years ago, I suspect, was huge. The difference between the "average" open player today and the best players in the game is pretty close--let's assume the best players in the world average 2.8 and the average open player averages 5.5 (just guessing of course).
Therefore, I would conclude that the average open player today is far better than the average open player 20 years ago.
Now, whether you accept this answer or not, I still believe that the more accurate MET we use the better at any level of play.
In answer to your point No. 4, I believe all top open players know their take points and POG and that of their opponents for most scores and most low open players do not, and that's one of the reasons for the difference in their skill.
