Assuming the superstars goal is to maximize their profit and not their rate of return and assuming they have no risk of ruin, their best option would be entering the semifinals. For a weak player, say one that only wins 30% of their matches, the goal should be to minimize their expected loss, which would be achieved by entering at the lowest entry fee possible.
