In Response To: Are Byes Fair? Is Life Fair? (Bob Glass)

Assume five players for a 4-man winner-take all tournament. The five players are two average players, and three profishionals who are 60% faves against average players. Assume a $1000 entry fee.

Three players buy their way into the round of four for double the entry fee. The other two play each other in the round of eight. If you were one of the average players, would you rather that the three profishionals each buy a quarter of the drawsheet, or that you and only two of them pay double?
