Cash play tournament at Riviera Cup

Directly inspired from formats in use in poker tournaments, CashPlay gives the less experienced players a better chance to go further in the competition than with a classic knock-out (single-elimination) match format.
If a "less experienced player" is a 40% match dog, then I read "a better chance to go further in the competition" to mean a better than 40% chance of surviving the first round. That should be pretty easy for every entrant. Is that a Good Thing™? There's a pretty good chance this player can even survive all 4 Levels of Day 1 plus Level 5, if he counts on investing €1,800 in this €720 entry fee tournament. €1,800 -- that's one initial buy-in, plus two half-price rebuys (one's automatic, the second can be had immediately simply by dropping the first cube), for a total of 7,500 chips to last through Day 1, plus a half-price add-on of 5,000 more chips at the beginning of Day 2.
7,500 chips should surely see this player through Level 1, since that's 75 points worth of chips for 10 games. It's also 37.5 points worth for Level 2's 10 games, 25 points worth for Level 3's 8 games, and 15 points worth for Level 4's 8 games.
At this point, having survived Day 1's 36 games, and having made the add-on, this player will hopefully have managed to win some chips in Levels 1-4, since 12,500 chips will be less than 18 points worth in Level 5 at the start of Day 2, and only 5 points worth in Day 3's Level 9.
I think it's worth noting how the method of making pairings from Level 2 onward -- "largest stack against smallest stack, second largest against second smallest, etc." -- can be disadvantageous to the players with the largest stacks.
