We are straying quite far from the story line here, however:

1) Is it not potentially slanderous or libelous to accuse others of slander or libel? Just curious. You're the lawyer, please tell me.

2) "... the NY Times, despite its editorial policy has a rather scrupulous regard for the truth......". Is burying major stories inconsistent with their political and/or social agenda, or not reporting on such major stories at all, consistent with "a rather scrupulous regard for the truth"? -- (this question is not related to the Covlin story). I guess selective omission and not telling the truth are two different things?
