As I recall, your original idea was for a BGO Dream Team versus Readers match, with the current OLM being a kind of dry run.

The Dream Team idea still sounds like an appealing idea to me, particularly the prospect of seeing world-class commentary from the Dream Team. But the question is how much time the Dream Team would actually have to provide such commentary. Rich is busy with the USBGF, and Neil is recovering from burnout. Nack was posting a ton of great stuff at first but seems to have tapered off so I assume he's also busy with other things. There are still several other Giants who post regularly (Stick, O'Hagan, MCG, Peever, UBK), but I don't know whether they have the time to support such an event.
