In poker you constantly see the percentages for the diffent hands. looking at the hole cards made poker work for TV, but putting on the percentages and commentary made it work for the wider audiences. The big stacks going to the middle made it exciting (combined with the humongous price money).

If you try to draw comparisons to BG match-play, I would say that putting on pip-counts, bot evalation of winning chances, and most importantly the MWC for cube actions while they happen:

Player A Doubles. The screen displays the MWC for a the different decisions, thus the correct cube-action and the possible error-size (gain or loss). I think this could work with commentary if the setup is smooth.

If you follow 4 Quarter Finals or 2 Semi finals at the same time, you could switch to exciting actions, such as high volatile rolls or cube actions.

A big cube in a BG match is roughly the same as a large pot in a poker tournament.

I can understand why you feel the CashGame format would be more like a poker tournament, from a spectator point of view, but in the first levels you would only very rarely see players going "all in" for their tournament life. If your format was a chouette format, you would more often have these high tension moments for the player in the box! And you'd probably be able - through TV coverage - to "display" different player characters/types, such as the agressive or the low volatile players (when one person doubles or accepts from a team but the others refrain).

Anyway - if you cut the CashGame format right, I'm sure it would make good entertainment! Having chips on the table is a very easy and tangible way of displaying equity, compared to points on a scorecard, I agree.
