Phones & BG

Cell phones are normally banned from backgammon tournaments -- but it is never enforced and has become something of a joke, in my opinion.
I really like Henrik's suggestion that the player must declare his action -- move, drop/take, cube/no cube prior to taking the photo.
However, consider the situation -- like a Monte Carlo final, as an example -- where a match is broadcast on a large screen in another room. A player could easily have a friend signal him. Let's say he is considering taking/dropping a cube, pondering away -- the friend could see the position in the other room, quickly have it analyzed, and signal by calling to a cell phone on vibrate in the player's pocket. Or to one of two cell phones -- left pocket is a take, right pocket is a drop.
Where there is enough money and/or prestige at stake, anything goes. The technology is there.
