Cubeless bakgammon

I grew up playing this way, and then switched to cubeful once I got into tourney BG. To be honest, and apparently now agreeing with Phil, few plays actually change much. Yes some plays will change due to cubeful effects, but not nearly as much as some players think. That lack of BG's makes deep backgames and ace pt games slightly better provided they can be timed well enough (not so easy if your opp has a clue).

As for getting people who've played this way since before they could walk to switch to cubeful..good luck but don't expect them to.
