Who is Al Hodis?

Back when I began playing - about when Al stopped - Munchkin mentioned him to me, and said than Dean Muench thought (then) that Al was the best player in the world. It seems that Dean had met Al at a tournament, where Al showed up dressed in bib overalls, looking like a farmer. Dean licked his chops and suggested they play a few games. It was a country-style barbecue alright, but it was Dean on the grill.

Dean thought anyone who crushed him had to be the best player in the world.

Except me; he figured I was just lucky.
