If Blue hits it looks like a strong double, since White is a small favorite to hit and will win a lot of gammons if he does so. If White misses, I guess Blue is supposed to redouble since he becomes an instant favorite with significant gammons chances of his own. A very volatile exchange.

If Blue plays 6/3, I'm not sure what the cube action is. I find these types of positions difficult to evaluate. Blue will have small, but meaningful, racing chances. Maybe 10%? But I'm at a loss to tell you how often he hits and wins. Maybe someone else can give a way to estimate this.
