Which play is better based upon rollouts

Something that I've been wondering about.
Do GNU 2-ply or Snowie 3-ply play well enough to give the opening and 2nd move junkies the precision they're looking for?
You can roll it out to infinity but there must come a point where the "accuracy" is no longer valid as the bots are not playing "well enough".
Is it valid to simply say the errors cancel each other out?
I now routinely look deeper into rollout results that I have a special interest in to satisfy myself there aren't some systematic errors.
I've seen GNU 2-ply produce erroneous rollout results from relatively straightforward positions simply because it's misplaying either too may replies or a few by a large margin.
Using a stronger bot and an especially an extra ply seems to help a lot.
