One of the things that I think is slightly misleading about such lists is that they're not, in my opinion, properly normalized by duration. I see that some attempt was made in case of backgammon by defining a "game" to be a 25-point match, but I think the normalization should be done so that the amount of time taken is approximately the same. For example, to normalize chess against 19x19 go, I think a best-of-3 chess match is probably a fairer comparison to a single go game than a single chess game. If this were done then I believe that chess would spread out into more levels.
