I have no idea what Christian was driving at, but of the four games, my dad taught me to play chess in half an hour, when I was six years old, and I turned around and taught my four-year old brother. Munchkin proceeded to beat me, and I quit the game forever. You can teach any monkey to play poker in three minutes, but it takes the rest of the night to explain "one-eyed jacks and king with the axe, then pass three cards to your neighbor." (What, you think Hold "em is the only game?) Backgammon takes a day or two before you have a hope of playing it without "teacher" around to make sure you aren't screwing something up. Bridge takes about a month of work to play.
The above are estimates of how long it takes to proceed through entry-level. I'd guess all of them take three to five years of hard work to become an expert.
