I voted for your play, Gregg -- 8/2 5/2 21/18. But I think now that 8/2(2) is better. The spare on the 5 point is well placed, and 8/2(2) prepares to bring in the bar point checkers, for 3 spares aiming at the ace, and the spare on the 8 point is useless with the 2 point made. I don't think it's right to trap now leaving a blot on the bar point. I'm not worried about losing the game by trapping, but I'm not worried about losing against the acepoint game, either. I don't see that a trap play wins more often than my top two choices.
