I remain of the opinion that wide search intervals are a must for positions like this since a narrow search interval may miss some good possible plays during the containment phase after hitting a shot.

I agree with this and almost mentioned it but I thought I'd already kicked the dead horse, my point was brought home without the large search interval for the side taking, no need to rub it in.
