Offense or defense?

I messed up a similar decision not long ago. At gammon save it's surely right to make the golden anchor. My naive thought was that 3a7a is a gammon-savish score so I made the GS play, and it was a big mistake. The thing is that even if you don't know your gammon values, you can see that losing a gammon just leaves you with an even match score. Thus you don't need to be excessively afraid of losing a gammon. So I'm confident that 24/20(2) is wrong here.

With that in mind, we see that Blue is way behind in the race and White has some priming potential but is actually somewhat stacked and stripped. Hanging back and building the board seems to be the right strategy. My first three 2's are 6/4(2) and 13/11. After that I'm not sure about 8/6 versus 13/11; 8/6 restores an important spare to the 6-point but 13/11 guards the 5-point. Probably 13/11 is better.
