Nack, if you're asking if it has been proved that any backgammon game ends with probability 1, then the answer is yes. I believe Curt McMullen was the first to write down a proof in public. McMullen's argument was rather terse and Doug Zare fleshed it out. It should be easy to find with a Google search (I think it's at bkgm.com).
