I doubt your example matches up with Bill's words. He said "several checkers off" and you have 7 off, this one being the 8th. That seems like quite a few more than 'several' to me. You also picked a score where the gammon value is clearly heightened (not going to figure it out though) and gave him a smooth crunched board. Too much tweaking going on. If I would have had to guess at the position beforehand this was my guess:
