Nack: When I lived in England (age 11-13), I learned in school that billion has 12 zeros (instead of 9) and trillion 18 (instead of 12), and everything above that has 2n-6 zeros (only cuz I asked), while "milliard" and "billiard" fill in the missing 9- and 15-zero numbers. Is that system still used on "the continent" (Europe)?

I grew up in Scotland, and I was taught that a billion is a thousand million. That was 20 years ago.
