I think you (and other Giants) should wait if you trail -2 -4 against a Normal Person. Your opponents will often think you are the better player, so take and hope to get lucky, or they may drop something takeable out of fear. To put it differently - playing against a Giant will add to the confusion of some players, so their reactions become unpredictable, arguing against cubing so early that you honestly cannot get a mistake. No one going to drop this, but you can get a wrong take/pass later, so your costs of doubling late are reduced from the theoretical.
