Annoyed... two steps forward, two steps backward

jdcartwright: But at least my bad plays got punished almost instantly and I learned a little lesson.
On one hand, this isn't true in BG -- you can often win BECAUSE you made the wrong play. However, regardless of results, I do feel punished when the bot says, "HAHAHAHAHAHA" to my play.
Joe Russell: Suggestions I would make would be: organize your errors into groups so that you can identify the types you are repeatedly making-they should include checker play and cubes decisions ATS.
I think I'm going to have to do this... I haven't yet. I now have a huge (200+) collection of matches that I've played in person -- recorded by video and transcribed into a bot. There's a lot of learning material there that I haven't quite tapped into yet.
Klaus Evers: But I hope you go through your analyzed match move by move, not only the errors.
Strangely enough, this hasn't really occurred to me. When I review a match, I do the most natural thing -- I do two things... first, I look at my error rate... I'll say either, "Yay, I played a good match" or "Hee haw!!!". Then I go straight to my errors and try to think about them... was it an overlook? Did I misunderstand the position? Should I do a rollout? I really don't spend much time looking at the ones I got right. But I think it's a good suggestion.
Chuck Bower: Thinking Body, Dancing Mind.
I have this book, and have read some but not all of it.
Mary Hickey: I agree with Joe's suggestion of organizing errors into groups that at least seem to be of the same type
That's two people with the same idea... must be a good one!
Thanks for all of the suggestions. It can be tough hanging around BGO -- the level of play/understanding here is so high, that even the strongest players can feel like they're under water. I know I'm a good player, but I've established my target much higher than where I'm at... I'm convinced I can improve, but at the same time, it needs to be possible... if you could look in your crystal ball and tell me that I've hit my peak right now... ugh, I'm not sure I could accept that.
