I strongly disagree because in praxis noone will maintain a high win rate and stay in the intermediates. They will be forced to move up. Once they do their win rate will normalize and their true rating will happen over time.

A rating list is never a true reflection of who are the best players because of the fluctuations that naturally happen in gammon.

You can use ratings to determine in what flight to play. In Denmark you are not allowed to enter the intermediate flight if you're rating is above X or if your experience level is above Y.

This works very well.
