No, I have not written any books on dynamic programming.
The idealization would be to have 15 checkers versus 1, with the prime roller's goal being to close out the checker and the lone checker's goal being to leap the prime. My guess is that if you make the backgammon board long enough (by stretching out the outfield) then the lone checker will win, but I'm not sure. The prime is more likely to crack but if the lone checker is hit then it has a longer distance to travel to reach the broken prime.
