The perils of reference positions

Agree with your conclusions.
The three plays I see are:
13/7, 13/9 -- leaving 13 immediate shots and one blot.
24/18, 9/5 -- leaving 24 immediate shots at the 18-point plus {4-4, 5-5} at the 24-point and two total blots.
24/14 -- leaving 11 immediate shots at the 14-point plus {1-1, 3-3, 4-4, 5-5, 6-6} at the 24-point and three total blots.
Then there's the imminent cube decision for Blue.... I think it's easy (for me) to rule out 24/18, 9/5. 24/14 is tempting, but it looks very gammonish. Two down is also somewhat gammmonish and gives opp free reign in his outfield, you blot's survival is more likely and you can still win a prime-vs-prime battle.
It's not obvious to me that Blue has a take after any play, but two down does feel takeable so that's my play.
BTW, I prefer commentary to follow (e.g. in 24 hours, similar conditions to rollouts) as it just influences me (and I'm sure others) too much. You still get your point across and you're much more likely, IMO, to get unbiased replies. Of course it's your post, so do as you see best.
