I don't know if it's right but when Black has a five-point prime, blots are a much smaller worry than timing issues are. If Black does not run off the anchor now, there is some chance of an awkward roll forcing Black to crunch his prime. Also if there is an exchange of hits, then Black will typically prefer it if Yellow enters quickly, and making a four-point board impedes this.
On the flip side, running off the anchor does give Yellow better chances to attack and counterprime. Leaving the 2 point unmade may also give Yellow the option of shifting his ace-point checkers forwards should the course of the game warrant it. So there is a tradeoff here.
