Yes, I don't think we want to give up playing face to face over nice boards - that's part of backgammon's charm. I guess most of what I'm looking for could be accomplished by a mounted camera with some way to trigger it after each roll/move - would still require transcribing but not a big deal. I was thinking it would be nice if these things were commonplace so there'd be some record of all the great positions that arise in "real" backgammon.
