eXtreme Gammon Rollouts

My computer has a quad-core 2.4 GHz processor and 3Gb of RAM and I find rollouts to be way too slow for my liking if you use the default setting of 1296 games with variance reduction.

What is your definition of too slow? Compared to what?

Check in Options-Settings-Analysis what number of threads does XG use. That should be on 4.
From my experience, cache size isn't relevant for speed of rollouts (somebody correct me if I'm wrong), but maybe you can try 128+ settings to see if that helps.

Do you have other programs that use CPU power (GnuBG, for example) running at the same time? Try closing them.

What is your search interval in rollouts? (Options-Settings-Rollouts) Normal interval will be faster than Large, which is faster than Huge.
