USBGF - For the Future

I am the President and one of the founding directors of the USBGF, a non-profit organization. The ABT is a tour organized by Bill Davis, with the participation of independent directors that opt to have their tournaments as part of this tour and agree to certain terms and conditions set forth by the ABT. The USBGF intends to populate these tournaments with new players as well as provide significant benefits to players to enhance their backgammon experience. There is no compelling need we see to be under one roof in the U.S., at the present time, nor any conflict of interest.

Since Denmark has all tournaments controlled by their Federation we did discuss this option with organizers here but they did not support it. We are getting cooperation from directors, including leading ones like Bill Davis , Carol Cole, and Howard Markowitz, so we are satisfied we are on the right track to make backgammon grow with our present structure.

We anticipate launching an official membership drive in August although we already begun signing up members at ABT events. Although our website content is at a standstill until we launch, I suggest you visit at www.USBGF.org. to get a better idea of what we stand for.
