Bye Score and Bye Balance

In Response To: Bye Score and Bye Balance (Bob Koca)

Suppose Marco enters three events. In event 1 there are 31 players and he gets a bye. In events 2 and 3 there are 33 players and he misses the bye each time. His expected number of byes was 1/31 + 31/33 + 31/33 which is close to 2. This player only got one bye and is nearly a bye behind being even. His bye score is just barely positive though at 1/32.

Those byes are not worth the same, in fact, the byes he missed are worth about half of the byes he got. I think the numbers are OK.
