Even someone who is not a poker expert can understand that a pair of aces beats a pair of nines. But chess, even with the aid of computers for analysis, is not always so clear.

So I guess if one side has a queen and the other doesn't, it's hard to understand which side has a huge advantage?

The quoted statement is so absurd, and in fact so insulting to poker experts, that anything this joker (a compliment compared to what I should have said) wrote following it isn't worth reading.
