XG Question for Xavier

Hi Paul, sorry i was not clear enough.
In a nut shell the answer is that you cannot compare Bordeaux to Burgundies (or compare oranges to apples as you say in the US).
XGR+ is supposed to be more accurate than 4-ply and the moves analyzed in the more accurate level will always be displayed on top of the less accurate one.
Let's check your position. Analyzing it in 4-ply it gives
4-ply 7/1 5/1 -0.511 4-ply 13/9 13/7 -0.550 (-0.039) 4-ply 7/1 6/2 -0.553 (-0.042) analyzing all 3 top move in XGR+ gives
XGR+ 7/1 5/1 -0.556 XGR+ 7/1 6/2 -0.586 (-0.030) XGR+ 13/9 13/7 -0.600 (-0.044) Now in your case you decided to analyze only the top 2 moves. If the display was made only according to equity you would get:
4-ply 7/1 6/2 -0.553 XGR+ 7/1 5/1 -0.556 (-0.003) XGR+ 13/9 13/7 -0.600 (-0.047) This display does not make sense to me: you explicitly asked a deeper analyze on the 2 specific moves and these should stay on the top because you deemed them (with XG 4-ply help) to be the two best moves.
This happen only if the deeper level "thinks" that the lesser level overestimated the move's equity.
I hope i shed some light to how the process works.
Xavier
