Gregg, I appreciate your comment and your speed, but remember that I stated that method #1 AVERAGES 7 seconds. This means that some players (like yourself) can accomplish retrieving the dice, dropping them into their cup, giving them a "legal" shake, and rolling them onto the board, having them settle fairly for a checker play in LESS than 7 seconds, and, for other players, these actions take MORE than 7 seconds. I did not pull that number out of the air. I, with a stopwatch, timed literally thousands of these processes to come up with the stated average.

If you (quicker than most) consistantly accomplish these actions within 4 seconds, and I state an average of 7 seconds, please explain your reasoning for classifying my stated average as "a gross exaggeration".
