Doubling at -3/-7 and -3/-8

At -3 away/-many away with zero gammons, there is a doubling window, you're either in it or you're not, and a graph of your equity with X percent winning chances should be fairly straightforward, no? -- although volatility and redouble value would be variables -- any others?

Would the simplifed variable of net gammon wins be a useful guide for adjusting the "rule" for gammonful positions, or do both gammon wins and gammon losses need to be considered in a less simplistic fashion?
