Take a typical four-day pro golf tournament with 64 players.

Create a somewhat similar backgammon tournament. Here's what I suggest. 64 top players. Four-day tournament. Round robin. Six rounds a day. Each round is one 11-point match. At the end of each day you drop 16 players. If there is a tie at the end of day 4, have a playoff to determine the winner.

What are your chances of predicting the winner in either tournament? Are you better at predicting the winner of the golf tournament or the winner of the backgammon tournament?

I don't know the answer, but would think it is in the same ballpark.
