Even if XG or any other app was running on every single computer on the planet, I think time and money could be better spent in the long run by thinking more generically. I hope the USBGF has someone onboard who knows a little about distributed systems :o) I also hope, whether the final solution will transmit temporary matchfiles, moves, positions or something else, that there will be a nice abstract protocol defined for being a relayer and a reciever and an exact description of what is being transmitted.

Would it not be a shame, not to be able to offer the members to follow the semifinals of the Sepych Open 2013 just because the USBGF correspondent had dropped his Windows ladened laptop in the pool, and all those pesky lines of assembly and .dll's from XG were yet to be ported to the IpogiosX1729, the correspondent's favourite smarttool ? Had things been set up properly, the correspondent's generous offer of having the final played on his autotranscribing Brahma board would have worked a charm had he not lost it, the board, in last night's chouette.

What are the ideas for the clientside ? It sounds like you want something more than dynamic webpages in a browser.
