If you are playing an opponent who will not recube aggressively at this score, then chances are he is so bad that you will roll home for an easy win regardles, if you are in a position where you're contemplating cubing.

The risk that the tosser might rewhip is too great, especially if he can win a G.

If you can win a G, then you risk him killing your Gs by recubing.

So I would not recommend cubing when leading -3 if there are Gs in the position.
