(Just a minor note of procedure: IMO it's better to point to the position with a URL, at least while the problem is fresh. I'm pretty sure Phil would like to have people coming to his site where they'll potentially see some advertising. Not a biggie as I understand it's more convenient for responders to have the position handy while posting, and thus I understand your intent.)

Can't talk myself out of my first instinct of 17/2, 6/1. I want to maintain the outfield blocking points here. I looked at alternatives of leaving the checker on the 17-point and playing some combination of 6/1(2), 10/5(2), and 13/8(2) but those appeared to play more into White's strength.
